Brandy Brook Mines Limited is a mineral exploration company. Our focus is to expand Ontario's Critical, Base and Precious Metal inventory. We believe these critical deposits exist along splay faults of the famous Porqupine - Destor Deformation Zone (PDDZ) and in favorable rock formations within the under-explored Blake River Assemblage.
Brandy Brook's Tannahill Project consists of 45 contiguous unpatented mining claims covering 1,440 ha in Holloway and Tannahill township's, Ontario. The project is located in the prolific Abitibi Greenstone Belt, along the southern boundary of the PDDZ.
The Tannahill Project covers 3 areas of mineralization.
The Magusi Au Zone includes River Trench and Magusi Trench and historic drilling on the Roy Au Occurrence. Gold mineralization occurs along a
1,600 metre corridor of intense alteration, shearing, veining and sulphide mineralization.
Miron consists of strong copper related mineraliztion (chalcopyrite,
bornite, chalcocite) and associated silver, gold, zinc, manganese and nickel in a potential volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) setting.
Hilltop consits of nickel-copper-cobalt bearing sulphides in a large gabbro intrusion.
The Tannahill Property also covers ground and airborne geophysical features potentially representing faults, sulphides and favorable rock types for additional areas of mineraliztion.
Historic drilling in the vicinty of the Roy (Bastarache) Au Occurrence and the River Trench by Canamax Resources Inc. (1949) and by Condaka Metals Corporation (1985 to 1988) outlined mutiple intersections of gold mineralization occurring along a 1,600 metre corridor. The gold potential of the area was further strengthened in 1988 when sonic overburden drilling by the Ontario Geological Survey encountered numerous gold grains in basal till lying on top of highly altered bedrock. Although poorly exposed, historic drilling indicates multiple zones of gold mineralizaition exist along a 1,600 metre corridor potentially up to 400 metres wide and open in all directions.
Brandy Brook's Magusi Trench is located in the heart of the Magusi Au Zone and exposes strong alteration, shearing, brecciation, several generations of quartz veining, and widespread sulphide mineralization. Gold occurs throughout the outcrop, generally associated with sulphide mineralization, quartz veins and Fe-carbonate alteration. Extensive channel sampling has yeilded assays of up to 5.06 grams/ tonne (g/t) Au. Electron microprobe examination of rock sample from the Magusi Trench identified inclusions of native gold in sulphides.

In 1986, prospector Ted Miron of Sudbury discovered gold and copper in pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization in an outcrop beside the Magusi River in the southwest corner of the Tannahill Property. Mr. Miron performed a limited amount of overburden stripping and reported a gold assay of 0.29 oz/ton from a small pit on the east side of the river.
Historic work on the discovery includes overburden stripping, trenching and diamond drilling. Numerous intersections of chalcopyrite are noted in drill logs but no assays are reported.
Surface samples from stripping and trenching programs ranged
0.002 to 1.26 oz/ton gold, 0.11 to 0.41 oz/ton silver and 1.01 to 3.80% copper (Assessment File 32D05NE0036)
In 2011, Brandy Brook Mines Limited staked claims covering the mineralization at Miron. Since aquiring the property, Brandy Brook has completed ground magnetometer and electromagnetic VLF surveys, heaving mineral sampling, Mobile Metal Ionization soil surveys, petrology, geological mapping, rock and channel sampling.
Surface samples collected by Brandy Brook have returned assays of
8.61% Cu, 39.4 g/t (1.14 oz) Ag, 1.46 g/t (0.043 oz) Au,
0.102% Zn, 0.16% Mn and 0.072% Ni.
Ground magnetometer and electromagnetic VLF surveys by Brandy Brook show magnetic and conductive features coincident and proximal to Miron indicating additional mineralization in the area. Soil surveys show coincident Cu-Ag-Au-Z n-Ni-Pb anomalies over Miron and some geophysical anomlies.
Heavy mineral samples collected from the Magusi River collected upstream and dowstream from Miron contain abundant grains of chalcopyrite and pyrite and the occasional gold grain. Many of the grains of pyrite contain inclusions of sphalerite which is a Zn-bearing mineral.
Petrography combined with microprobe examination of rock samples from Miron combined with chemistry and assay results suggest potential association with Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide mineralization. It is well known that the Blake River Assemblage hosts the world’s largest concentration of Archean volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits
Rock samples collected at an historic sulphide occurrence in a gabbro intrusion situated on the Tannahill Property identified anomalous nickel, copper and cobalt associated with pentlandite-pyrite-chalcopyrite mineralization. Assays of 0.06% Ni, 0.18% Cu and 0.02% Co have been obtained from Hilltop.
Nickel, copper and cobalt are listed as Critical Minerals. The list also includes: manganese, zinc and vanadium. In addition to gold, these Critic Minerals can be found on Brandy Brook's Tannahill Property.
